Dr Maximilian Bock and Mr Aftab Jalia from the Natural Materials and Structures Group have designed an outreach programme to educate and inspire children to become technology innovators. Using the Raspberry Pi to compose music, make drawings and even build little robots, students find a new creative outlet for their imagination. The project – Madanyu, which means 'little elephant' in the Indian dialect of Gujarati - introduces computer coding to some of the world’s poorest children.
