The Department was rated first in the UK in the last Research Excellence Framework. Building on the foundations of the Martin Centre it is an extraordinary centre for interdisciplinary, sustainable, innovation, with a particular focus on the development of research in practice. It also benefits from a large global, interdisciplinary network.
