Department of Architecture

An Architecture degree from the University of Cambridge is an outstanding first step into the world of employment. We have some of the highest employment rates of any Architecture department, with 98% of graduates in employment or further study 6 months after graduating. 85% of our graduates go directly into employment, with 13% choosing to pursue further study, often at the University of Cambridge.

The majority of our students have gone on to find immediate employment in high-quality architectural firms with a range of different specialisms: from hospitals to stadiums. Please see our news feed for information on the most recent design projects by alumni. They have also found success in a range of different careers, both associated with, and further away from, questions of design and the built environment.

BECOMING AN ARCHITECT

While an architecture degree can lead on to a wide range of careers, the Cambridge BA in Architecture course also carries Part 1 ARB/RIBA status. This is the first stage of qualifying to become an architect, which the majority of our students decide to pursue. You can find out about the full path that leads to becoming an architect here.
