IDBE MSt student Nathalie Baxter shortlisted for RIBA Journal rising star award

Nathalie started the IDBE Master’s Programme in September 2017 and attended the first residential course week which took place at the Department of Architecture. The focus of the first week was on interdisciplinary design and began with looking at the global challenges affecting the built environment like climate change, population growth, urbanisation and well-being and then drilled down into how built environment professionals can effect change. As well as lectures and seminars there was a studio design task for a pedestrian footbridge over the River Cam which will serve the newly opened Cambridge North railway station. Four teams tackled the project, each producing a scale model of their concept.

Nathalie was the winner of the 2017 IDBE scholarship for outstanding academic ability which covers 50% of her course fee.
