Hans van der Heijden – the new Marshall Visiting Professor

We are delighted to announce that Hans van der Heijden will be our new Sir Arthur Marshall Visiting Professor in Sustainable Urban Design. Hans is an architect and urbanist from the Netherlands where, having studied at TU Delft and worked for Mecanoo, he founded and is the design director of biq. He is not only an active and award-winning designer, but also engages in urban research work and has published widely – most notably his book ‘Architectuur in de Kapotte Stad’ (Architecture in the Fractured City). He will be giving a series of lectures and running design workshops related to housing developments in Cambridge based on and extending the thesis developed in his book.
