is this an architectural documentary? (Irushi Tennekoon, Sumedha Kelegama and Sumudu Athukorala, 2023, 60 minutes) explores a housing scheme designed by Minnette De Silva (1918-1998) in 1956. It was featured at the ‘Tropical Modernism‘ (2024), V&A Museum, and will be screened as part of an exhibition by Qatar Museums at Venice Architecture Biennale 2025, held at Palazzo Franchetti and the Giardini.
‘Siteseeing’ is a monthly film screening series held at the Cambridge Department of Architecture. We welcome all students and staff members to explore various representations of architecture, cities and social lives in different cultures and societies through the moving image.
