The Sixth Annual Conference of the Construction History Society: Special Theme: Water in Architecture and Engineering. 5-7 April 2019

The Sixth Annual Conference of the Construction History Society will be held in Queens’ College, Cambridge on 5, 6  and 7 April 2019 with the AGM on Saturday 6 April and tours of buildings on Sunday 7 April and an annual lecture and dinner on the Saturday night.

This year the First Day (Friday 5 April)  will be devoted to papers on Water in Architecture and Engineering and held in collaboration  the Department of Architecture in Cambridge. Call for abstracts here.

The Second Day (Saturday 6 April) will include general papers on the History of Building Construction (Call for abstracts here). There will a special session or sessions on the theme of doors (Call for abstracts here). 

There will be a Gala Dinner in the evening of 6 April after the Building History Annual Lecture and a visit is being organised for those interested on Sunday (details to be announced).

Abstracts should be submitted by 15 October and will be approved by 30 October. Final papers must be completed by 14 January 2019. Registration includes a printed copy of the proceedings which will be available at the conference.
