Architect and MSt Building History graduate Tszwai So, of London-based Spheron Architects, has won first prize in the RIBA Journal’s prestigious Eye Line architectural drawing awards.  Tszwai’s entry stemmed from his prizewinning design for the Pan-European Memorial for the Victims of Totalitarianism, to be built in Place Jean Rey, Brussels.  Tszwai’s entry, consisting of three drawings charting the evolution of the concept and form of the memorial, in which hand-written letters from survivors of totalitarianism and their relatives are the dominant image, was the overall winner in the Practitioner category.  The judges commended it as ‘a highly considered mnemonic cartography of both idea and process – and a worthy winner’.  The drawings will now be exhibited at RIBA HQ, 66 Portland Place, London, from 29 August until 12 September, and then at RIBA North, 21 Mann Island, Liverpool, from 1 September to 30 October.  It will be featured in August’s issue of the RIBA Journal and will take its place in the permanent collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum.
