Biography
Julia is a Senior Architect at Arup working on multidisciplinary transport, infrastructure and science projects. She is also the Inclusion Ally for Arup’s Cities, Planning and Design department, working with diverse disciplines to promote inclusive design and practice. Before Arup, Julia worked at Carmody Groarke, Serie Architects and DSDHA. Julia researches and designs with bamboo, completing several projects in the Philippines in collaboration with Southeast Asian bamboo designers and experts. She is also a writer and alumna of New Architecture Writers; her written work has appeared in The Architectural Review. Julia completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Cambridge with her Masters research focusing on urban segregation and spatial justice in America. She has been an invited speaker and guest critic at the City College of New York.
