Biography

Wendy Andrews is an Affiliated Lecturer in the Faculty of Architecture and History of Art, and Course Tutor for the MSt in Building History. After a career in communications for public sector organisations including Arts Council England and National Lottery Heritage Fund, and advisory roles with the BBC and the National Trust, Wendy returned to academic study in the founding cohort of the MSt in 2011. She went on to research her PhD on 19th century wallpaper archives, completed in 2017 under the supervision of Professor James Campbell. Since then, Wendy has undertaken research, written papers and given lectures on the significance of wallpaper design and materials and its contribution to the understanding of buildings’ histories. As a committee member of the Wallpaper History Society, Wendy has published widely and has undertaken research for Historic Royal Palaces, Historic England and private clients. Wendy serves on the Heritage Watch advisory group of Cambridge Past, Present and Future.
