Biography

Anna is an architect and director of Pamphilon Architects (https://www.pamphilonarchitects.com/), a Cambridge based practice that focuses on eco retrofit and passivhaus design.

Prior to setting up her own practice Anna worked as a senior architect and sustainability lead for Hawkins\Brown and co-edited the website Greenspec. She went on to complete an MSc in Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies at the Centre of Alternative Technology where her thesis concentrated on post occupancy evaluations. Anna remains a firm advocate in the importance of real data and feedback loops to improve the quality and sustainability of our built environment.

Anna is currently a steering group member of Architects Declare (https://www.architectsdeclare.com/) who work to support signatory architectural practices to deliver their declaration and encourage leaders in government and industry to change the systems behind the climate crisis.

Anna is currently developing a design guide on regenerative design with Architects Declare. Regenerative design is an approach in which human and natural systems are designed to co-exist and co-evolve over time going beyond standard concepts of sustainable design to deliver a net-positive impact for the environment by replenishing resources and enhancing resilience.

Anna is also member of the Expert Design Review Panel for Design South East, advising local authorities and their stakeholders, and an RIBA Architecture Ambassador.
