Department of Architecture
Hans is an architect and urbanist from the Netherlands where, having studied at TU Delft and worked for Mecanoo, he was a founding director of biq. He is currently practicing from his own studio [ www.hvdha.com ]. Hans is not only an active and award-winning designer, but also engages in urban research work and has published widely – most notably his books ‘Architectuur in de Kapotte Stad’ (Architecture in the Fractured City) and ‘Habitat’. He is editing the Dutch Architecture Yearbook. He will be giving a series of lectures and running design workshops related to housing developments in Cambridge based on and extending the thesis developed in his book.
