The award is given in recognition of sustained academic achievement. On this achievement, Edward writes that;
"Girton College, University of Cambridge has been such a wonderful home for these last three years. Such a strong foundation has allowed me to make truly special memories during my time. I am also incredibly grateful to the College for awarding me the First-Class Sir Arthur Arnold Scholarship in recognition of my representing them through academic achievement.
My deepest thanks are extended to my director of studies, tutors and peers who continue to ignite interest and are individually inspiring."
