Chris Wright and Matt Jones originally trained in architecture but now, after established careers at the forefront of innovation and technology, they are designing the future of home energy at Lunar Energy.

Come and listen to them speak on...

The 3Ds of 21stC energy systems:
Digitization, Decentralization and Decarbonisation

Lunar Energy is a startup devoted to the mission of moving homes run 100% on electricity, by making the best hardware and software to enable that transformation. This works both at the scale of the individual building and that of a regional or national grid. Our talk will address technology’s role at both scales - and the design inputs necessary to connect the two.

Chris Wright, SVP Software Technology & Product, Lunar Energy
Chris leads Software Product development at Lunar, leading software engineering, product and R&D teams focused on the Gridshare software platform and Lunar's apps. Prior to Lunar, Chris co-founded Moixa where he led hardware and software development. Since 2010, Chris has been leading energy R&D projects, developing smart battery systems, sensors, software controls and platforms. He holds a Masters of Arts in Architecture from Cambridge University.

Matt Jones, Head of Design, Lunar Energy
Matt Jones is Head of Design at Lunar Energy, a company building the world’s best clean energy products to deliver home electrification at scale. He’s been designing digital products and services since 1995. From 2013-2021 he worked at Google as a Principal Designer, primarily in Google Research working on AI concepts. From 2009-2013 he was a principal at BERG, a design and invention company in London that had projects exhibited in MoMA, and products featured in FT, FastCompany, Wired and Marvel comics. He got as far as a BArch RIBA pt2 from the Welsh School of Architecture before being distracted by the birth of the web.
