Paul Michael Pelken (Architect, Associate Professor of Architecture at Syracuse University, USA Director of SU's London Architecture Program)

The urgent need for more sustainable integrated building approaches and an enhanced performance has impacted various research and design agendas in the building industry. These trends have lead designers to question: How can an environmentally responsive perlormance not only lead to energy savings and a limitation of C02 emissions, but also impact contemporary and innovative design typologies? The presentation will include the outcome of various interdisciplinary research projects ranging from patented product to high-rise applications.

Paul Michael Pelken is a registered Architect(AKNW/Germany,ARB/UK), Associate Professor of Architecture at Syracuse University in New York,USA and Director of SU's London Architecture Program. He is Visiting Professor at the Nanjlng University School of Architecture and Urban Planning in china, co-founder and a Chairman of the ProlD - Alliance for Product Innovation In Germany. His diverse research based design practice has received several national and International design awards and his work has been widely published and exhibited . Funded Technology Transfer initiatives include R&D work for the US Department of Energy next to industry collaborations.
