Biography

I joined the Center for Natural Material Innovation in September 2021 as a research assistant. My research background includes both architecture and engineering. Prior to the University of Cambridge, I was one Ph.D. student of the School of Architecture of University of Sheffield.

The research is about the optimal design for freeform timber grid shell constructed and fabricated by industrial robots. The research is related to the robotic impact factor analysis and optimisation for robotic timber fabrication and morphology of freeform surface.

Before that, I majored in architecture and urban design at the Department of Architecture of Harbin Institute of Technology. I had done researches about smart city system and data-driven sustainable design. I have also accumulate experiences in designing and planning in real practices. I have great research interests for robotic-orientated design, computational material, machine learning methods applied in the architecture design field.
