Biography
Bushra is an architect, academic and writer. As Director of Msoma Architects, she leads projects that explore themes of home, belonging and migration, with a focus on addressing gaps in archives and representing the pluralism of shared histories. Her practice is guided by a commitment to equity and storytelling in the built environment.Alongside practice, Bushra is actively involved in academia. She is a Design Fellow at the University of Cambridge, and a Lecturer at Kingston School of Art. She also contributes her expertise as a member of the Kingston Placemaking Panel and as an advisory board member at Eastside Projects. Bushra was named a RIBAJ Rising Star in 2020, highlighting her as a leading voice in the future of architecture. Her writing and research extend her practice into critical discourse, examining migration, identity and decolonial narratives within architecture.
