Biography:

Shane is an architectural designer, artist, and community organiser from Dublin, Ireland. His design practice examines the potential of participatory art to reshape our relationship with urban space and promote more democratic approaches to planning and development. He has led the design and construction of large-scale installations at events around the world, including Burning Man (USA) and VIVID Sydney (AUS) and he is a co-founder of Modifyre, an annual festival of participatory arts and culture in southeast Queensland. He has been a tutor at the University of Queensland School of Architecture and a speaker at Pecha Kucha Brisbane.

Shane is also an accomplished musician. His research examining the subjective response of musicians to performance spaces was awarded the Acoustic Society of America Newman Medal. He practiced for several years as an acoustic consultant in London and Brisbane before embarking upon his current architectural studies at the University of Cambridge.
