Research Interests

My research explores the need for multifaceted design solutions to water scarcity caused by mismanagement and climate change in rapidly developing megacities, with a primary interest in Lima, Peru. With tropical glaciers, the natural reservoirs of Peru, retreating by 42% since the 1970's, new methods for collecting, storing and using water must be developed. In order to create the most efficient system, these methods must consider the cultural life of water as well as political and economic interests.
