Organised by Assistant Professor Dr Carolina Vasilikou, in collaboration with Manchester School of Architecture, and supported by our Director of Research, Dr Darshil Shah. The TECHNICA 4 Convention aims to bring together all the Technology Leads from Schools of Architecture across the UK to discuss current and future challenges related to Technologies teaching and propose strategies to continuously improve our practice. This year’s edition of TECHNICA travelled to Cambridge with the generous funding from SCOSA, the Standing Conference of Schools of Architecture.
With a fantastic line up of speakers from the MSA, RCA, AA, the Universities of Cambridge, Loughborough, Sheffield, Hertfordshire, Huddersfield, Kent and the Glasgow School of Arts, we were thrilled to welcome the first international keynote speaker from TU Delft, Dr Olga Ioannou, who talked about the state of the art practices in embedding circularity within architectural education, followed by the long view on history of construction from our next esteemed keynote speaker, Prof James Campbell.
The event was a great success and we would like to thank all of the speakers and participants who gave their time to join and reflect together about the future of Technologies teaching and research within architectural education.
