Dr Minna Sunikka Blank (PI) and Dr Ronita Bardhan (Co-I) have been awarded AHRC GCRF Research Network grant (2020-21).

This new research will use short documentary films as a method to understand domestic practices and energy demand in low income housing. The films are used to communicate the occupants’ daily realities to policy makers and professionals involved in the design and delivery of the new housing and energy infrastructure in Mumbai and Cape Town.

The project will bring together a new Research Network consisting of researchers, policy makers, NGOs and communities involved in the design and delivery of new transitional housing in India and South Africa.

The project will launch with a workshop in Mumbai 26-27 March. These will be followed by workshops in Cape Town and in Cambridge.

The project research partners are NGOs Doctors For You and Development Action Group (DAG) and the City of Cape Town.
