The department congratulates Cuicheng Zhang (MAUS, 23) on publishing her MPhil dissertation research in the prestigious Energy Policy Journal. Her research used machine learning to investigate the relationship between sociodemographic factors, building characteristics, energy efficiency and environmental impact in London's residential stock (2011–2021), using 2 million Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and sociodemographic data. Cuicheng is currently pursuing her DPhil (Engineering) at the University of Oxford.
During her MPhil, Cuicheng was supervised by Dr Ramit Debnath, Assistant Professor and Deputy Director of Centre for Human-Inspired AI (CHIA).
