ARCSOC Afterimage is the 2026 iteration of the annual end of year exhibition: entirely funded, curated, designed and built by ARCSOC. Afterimage is the lingering imprint left after looking at something bright: imperfect, yet vivid. In this retinal afterglow, colours and lights swirl… a memory without remembering; a sight with eyes shut.
This year, we are holding two exhibitions: the first shows all our work, from first to fifth year; from scribbles on a scrap of paper to two student-built pavilions; from dissertations to films. All of this work will engulf our department, its lecture rooms, courtyards, and studio.
The second is a curated selection of work which will be shown at the Crypt Gallery, opposite Euston Station, in London; primarily graduating years, the exhibition will represent the spirit of the department.
These exhibitions will aim to convey the imprint that the spaces in which we have spent our year leave on our drawings and models; and the manner in which all the work we produce is a reflection of our context; of our environment; of each other.
ARCSOC Afterimage runs from the 1 – 4 July in Department before a selection of work is taken to The Crypt Gallery, Euston running from the 8 – 11 July.
