The Traditional Building Construction Research Group is part of the Martin Centre for Architectural Research. Led by James Campbell and Michael Ramage, the group has been founded to study the history and development of building construction technologies, their sustainability and (where appropriate) the application of these technologies in contemporary situations.
The group seeks to carry out research into the areas outlined below. The Group welcomes suggestions for research projects within these areas. The group carries out consultancy as the Cambridge Historic Buildings Group (CHBG).
Potential PhD students are also invited to apply to carry out projects in any of these areas, particularly if they have their own sources of funding and MPhil by Research.
