Biography

Kaveh Jahanshahi is currently working to a combined policy-academic career, as transport modelling team leader at DfT/DEFRA’s Joined Air Quality Unit and Research Associate in urban analysis and modelling at the Department of Architecture, University of Cambridge, with both research and teaching responsibilities. In recent years, his research has focused mainly on understanding urban issues through digital urban modelling and use of advanced statistical and machine learning models in the UK and across different geographic areas of the world.

Kaveh holds a PhD in Transport Modelling from the University of Cambridge. Prior to joining the University, he was working as senior Transport Modeller for different global consultants with technical leading responsibilities. Managing the Department for Transport’s “National Transport Model”, and APRIL, which models the impact of transport policies in London, are two examples of the strategic modelling developments which are lead by Kaveh.
