Welcome to the DeDEPA (Designing Dynamic Environments for the Performing Arts) website.

The DeDEPA project was an interdisciplinary study undertaken by the Department of Architecture at the University of Cambridge in collaboration with the University of Salford, and sought to identify factors that contribute to the delivery of "better" buildings for the Performing Arts. The project team sought to elucidate the most appropriate briefing processes and plans of work for these building types.

Our major book, 'Geometry and Atmosphere: theatre buildings from vision to reality', is now available, published by Ashgate. Please see the 'News' page (link above) for more information.
