The unifying facet of the children’s ideas we observed was a sense of imagination and make believe.  In striving to create an environment for pretending and performing we were most attracted to simple forms which provided a blank canvas for the children’s creativity. Our final creations grew from a process of playful and collaborative experimentation with flexible plastic piping. The children’s engagement with our structural knots of piping reflected this collaboration and experimentation by encouraging performances which united the children’s individual imaginations through a shared medium.
